Dr. Sara Hayden, DNP, CRNP, PMHNP-BC

Sara Hayden is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience, specializing in women’s mental health across all stages of life. She provides compassionate, individualized psychiatric care with a holistic, whole-person approach that considers emotional wellbeing alongside lifestyle, hormones, and life transitions.

Sara supports women navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, and the emotional shifts that can occur during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. She believes in creating a safe, supportive space where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their care. Her approach combines thoughtful medication management with collaborative, integrative strategies to promote long-term wellness.

In addition to her clinical work, Sara serves as a professor and clinical educator, mentoring future nurse practitioners. She lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her family and enjoys gardening, yoga, cooking, and traveling.
